If you’ve linked your account to another savings or checking account or a line of credit, Overdraft Transfer Protection will be used as your primary source of overdraft coverage. Signing up for Debit Card Overdraft Protection would serve as an additional source of coverage in the event that you exhaust your checking or savings account balance or line of credit.
The overdraft coverage you select is applied on an individual account basis. You will need to sign up for coverage for each of the personal checking or money market accounts you have. (Give us a call or stop by your Umpqua store and we’d be happy to do it for you.)
Nope! Selecting Debit Card Overdraft Protection means the coverage is available, but you won't be charged a fee unless you use it. The same is true for Overdraft Transfer Protection.
Your personal checking and money market accounts automatically include overdraft coverage for checks, recurring debit card transactions, and bill payments (based on bank policy). ATM withdrawals and one-time debit card transactions will be denied if you don’t have enough funds in your account.
Note: We pay overdrafts based on our standard overdraft policy. We do not guarantee that we will always pay any type of overdraft transaction.
